| Perimeter
Scans from the Internet |
| How's
your network look from the Internet? |
| If
you haven't begun proactively
scanning your systems and networks
for vulnerabilities, it may
be time to consider having it
done periodically. Even if you
have staff members doing it
internally, sometimes it's a
good idea to get an outside
opinion and/or scan to ensure
nothing is being missed. The
'second opinion' scenario applies
to more than doctors. |
| In
many cases, how a corporate
network looks from the Internet
is different than how the network
administrators THINK it is. |
| If
you choose to have us do the
penetration scans, we can be
on-site or off -- depending
on what you want performed.
Scans can be conducted against
your perimeter firewalls from
the Internet and we need not
be on-site. Time required to
do it is minimal... a few days
from contract signing and your
initial report will be on its
way. We've had clients who thought
they only had one or two machines
with Internet exposure learn
that they had an entire network
segment, or more (with vulnerable
machines) also facing the Internet.
The network administrators,
often in other cities, had no
idea the exposures existed and
were very happy to get our reports
in each case. |
| The
report is always enlightening.
We offer periodic scans (weekly,
monthly, quarterly) that clients
prefer because it allows them
to focus their attention on
internal matters. As firewalls
age, more ports and services
are enabled. A few administrator
staff changes and a year later,
is there anyone keeping an eye
out for your firewall's wellbeing? |
